In this new body of work, Raemdonck extends an invitation—not just to see, but to feel one's way through memory, reverie, and imagination. His painted scenes, while often devoid of figures, are rich with presence. They speak of places remembered, longed for, or entirely imagined—familiar yet elusive. Each canvas is a threshold: a passage out of the literal and into a more intuitive, emotional terrain.
'Escape' is not a flight from reality, but a pursuit of interior freedom. With radiant colors, layered textures, and spatial ambiguity, Raemdonck conjures dreamscapes shaped by personal encounters and poetic intuition. These landscapes, often fragmented or abstracted, pulse with the sensation of travel—not geographical, but emotional. They echo the quiet urgency to find refuge in beauty, to roam freely within the frame of a painting.
As always in Raemdonck’s work, the viewer is invited to step in and linger, to lose track of time, to wander—if only for a while.
