LUXEMBOURG ART WEEK - 2026

20 - 22 November 2026

STUDIO23 is delighted to invite you to the 12th edition of Luxembourg Art Week, taking place from November 20 to 22, with an exclusive Preview on November 19, at Place du Glacis.

This year, we are proud to present a selection of works by four artists: Joren Van Acker, Jeffrey Chong Wang, Zhao Jinfeng and Sevak Grigoryan.

Distinct in their backgrounds, artistic languages and approaches, the four artists are united by a profound interest in the human condition and the many layers that shape our sense of identity. Drawing upon personal and collective histories, cultural heritage and inherited memories, their practices explore the intricate relationship between the individual and the world they inhabit.

From Joren Van Acker’s evocative reflections on maritime life, labour and the passage of time, to Jeffrey Chong Wang’s dreamlike explorations of memory, cultural identity and human relationships; from Zhao Jinfeng’s intriguing reinterpretations of the human body and its fragility, to Sevak Grigoryan’s deeply expressive sculptures, rooted in Armenian heritage, collective memory and the universal experiences of suffering, resilience and hope.

Within the exhibition, these distinct artistic worlds enter into a subtle yet compelling dialogue. Joren Van Acker’s works evoke a darker, introspective atmosphere, drawing us into the depths of maritime existence and the traces left by time. Against this darkness, Sevak Grigoryan’s gilded sculptures emerge as beacons of light, bringing warmth, luminosity and a sense of hope. Their golden surfaces seem to illuminate the surrounding space, creating a striking counterpoint to the sombre undertones of Joren’s work.

Zhao Jinfeng’s porcelain faces introduce another kind of presence. Delicate and vulnerable, they can be read as fragile figureheads, suspended between strength and fragility. Their quiet, almost ethereal presence softens the overall composition, bringing a sense of tenderness and humanity to the encounter between the works.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Chong Wang’s paintings, often drawing the eye from across the space, invite us into a world entirely his own. Through his distinctive visual language and evocative storytelling, he creates dreamlike narratives that transport us beyond the familiar, allowing us to wander through memories, emotions and imagined places.

Together, these four artistic voices create a conversation that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. Through contrasts of light and darkness, strength and vulnerability, memory and imagination, the exhibition invites us to look beyond the visible and reflect on questions of belonging, remembrance and the enduring complexity of being human.
